Top 10 Unusual But Beautiful Women

We are constantly bombarded with ugly people lists (even I am a perpetrator of writing these types of lists) so I decided to do the reverse – a list of women generally considered unusual or ugly, but who can be very beautiful. Most of the beautiful celebrities only look beautiful because of their makeup anyway – why not give these ladies the same treatment? So, here is my list of 10 not-normally-considered-beautiful beautiful women. In no particular order.
1. Courtney Love
Courtenaylove
Courtney Love often ranks at the top of ugly celebrity lists. She was married to Kurt Cobain (of Nirvana fame) until he killed himself in 1994. She formed her own band called Hole.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Still, it couldn’t hurt to buy Jemma Kidd Make-Up Secrets: Solutions to Every Woman’s Beauty Issues and Make-Up Dilemmas at Amazon.com!

2. Juliette Lewis

A breakthrough role for the tall, blonde actress came when she played Cecile de Volanges in Dangerous Liaisons (1988). More attention came with the NC-17 rated Henry & June (1990), but it was Thurman’s role in the Quentin Tarantino classic Pulp Fiction (1994) that earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Donning a short black wig to play femme fatale Mia Wallace opposite John Travolta’s hitman Vincent Vega, Thurman earned a place in film history. She is, of course, recently famous for her role in the Kill Bill films.
4. Fairuza Balk

Top 10 Tips for a Great First Date

Here is a list for the boys. There is a saying that “you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.” With that in mind, it is vital to be fully prepared to make a great impression on each date you go on. Here are 10 tips for men on dating success and making an impression that will last.
Date-1
1. Pay
Pay for everything. Don’t mention splitting the bill. If the lady suggests paying part of the bill do not accept the offer. If she insists, allow her to pay what she wishes (this is not just a rule for dating). You will be the best judge at the time whether your date is only insisting because she feels obliged.
Look marvelous while paying for dinner with a Nautica Men’s Wallet at Amazon.com!

2. Location
No movies on the first date. How can you get to know each other if you spend the majority of the time in silence? I would recommend taking your date out for dinner (no lunch dates on the first date either). Take her somewhere you feel comfortable and somewhere you can easily afford. You don’t want to be nervous all through the date that you might get stuck with a crippling bill. If price is a big concern for you, you can organize your own date in a public place (like a park or even at your own home) and prepare the meal yourself. If you can’t cook, takeaways are fine, but serve it on plates at the table and try to make an effort.
I would also suggest that you not go too overboard with the first date. Keep it simple and moderately priced. You can get extravagent on subsequent dates if things go well.
3. Manners
First off, if you are going to dinner, read the Rules for Fine Dining list; try to remember at least one or two. When you pick up your date, get out of the car and hold the door open for her. Do the same when you are letting her out of the car. If you are dining out for your first date, hold the chair out for your date and help her sit.
Don’t be late.
Istock 000002623099Xsmall
4. Respect
That means not to expect anything in return! A date is not payment for future pleasures, it is a way to get to know someone to gauge compatibility. This rule also means you should not try to get your date drunk, drugged, or compromised in any other way. At the end of the date you can offer a small kiss – offer nothing else and expecting nothing back.
5. Confidence
Be confident and take charge of the evening. This does not mean you should drag your date around by the arm; be firm with your suggestions and be confident that you will have a good date and make a good impression – remember, if you were a total loser you wouldn’t be on the date in the first place.
If you still need more advice, here’s the book From Shy To Social: The Shy Man’s Guide to Personal & Dating Success at Amazon.com!

6. Grooming
Dress appropriately for your date, and you should probably let your date know where you are planning to take her in advance so she can also dress appropriately. If you are going to the beach for a seaside dinner, dress nicely (no jeans) but don’t overdress. Similarly, if you are going to a fancy restaurant, wear a shirt and tie. Make sure your shoes are clean and polished if necessary.
Shower. Shampoo. Shave. If you have cologne, wear a little but not too much.
7. Conversation
Do not focus on yourself during the evening – ask your date questions about herself (this works in all social situations). Listen to the replies too and don’t just look for an opening to start discussing yourself. Do not talk about your job for more than a few minutes – while our own work is a fascinating subject for us, it is seldom fascinating for someone else. Be sure to compliment your date – but don’t go overboard – you will seem desperate.
Do not ever talk about dates you have had with other people or your ex-girlfriends.
Istock 000003711537Xsmall
8. Timing
Don’t let your date last too long. Think of it like a good meal – you should finish your plate feeling like you want just a little more. This is the best time to finish a date. This also means that you should not plan for the date to be too far from home otherwise the travel can ruin things.
9. Gifts
It can be a very nice idea to give your date a small gift on the first date. Don’t go crazy on something expensive – just a nice little token like a single rose is fine. Keep in mind where you are going and how you plan to get there so your date does not end up being lumbered with something that she has to carry around all night. Oh – and don’t pick the rose from your dates garden – buy one.
10. Conclusion
If you enjoyed your time with your date and would like to see her again, call her and tell her so. Don’t wait too long (and definitely don’t play hard to get). Be completely honest. Having said that, if you had an awful time, you should still be honest (though not brutal). There is no point in leading someone on – it will end up badly for both of you.

This is a comprehensive list of the top ten websites that help you pass the time of day, in other words, boredom busters. There is not one on the list that has not engrossed me for at LEAST an entire day. No more boredom at school! From worst to best…
10. Photo.Net
Photonet-1
This is a long running website by Philip Greenspun that covers all areas of photography. It includes reviews of virtual all cameras, as well as sample photographs. There are forums and you can even post your own photographs for criticism. It is a very simple site which makes it a pleasure to use. If you are planning to buy a new camera, you will spend hours here.
Visit Photo.net

9. Ebaumsworld
Ebaum
Ebaumsworld is a great site updated daily with hilarious videos, jokes, links, and forums. It has a huge following and you can spend hours lost in the midst of this site. The site also features cool flash games. I should also add that ebaumsworld have sent a generous amount of traffic to this site via the dailydump.
Visit Ebaumsworld
8. Operation Clambake – The Inner Secrets of Scientology
Clambake-1
I have spent hours in the past reading through this website. It gives a great expose of the horrors of Scientology (the Cult created by L. Ron Hubbard). It has millions of articles on Hubbard, the Cult itself, Dianetics, and even has fascinating stories by people who escaped from the clutches of the organisation. This one is a particularly good read (warning – it is long!) and is the only book I have read from cover to cover online. I would also recommend viewing Lermanet (the site of one of visitors) for more extensive Scientology information.
Visit Operation Clambake
7. Movie Trailers @ Apple – Latest movies in HD
Apple
Apple have the latest trailers for current movies on the QuickTime section of their website. Many of the trailers are in HD and they are all downloadable (if you have QuickTime Pro). Suitable for viewing on any OS. Some of the current films in HD are Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Oceans 13, The Bourne Ultimatum, and many many more. Check them out.

6. The Straight Dope
Straightdope
This site was started up by Cecil Adams. Who is he, you may ask? This is what he says: “Cecil Adams is the world’s most intelligent human being. We know this because: (1) he knows everything, and (2) he is never wrong.” Cecil writes for over 30 newspapers providing the straight dope on virtually any question you may have. This is a brilliant site and I have to confess to having spent whole weekends doing nothing but reading it. I guarantee that you will leave this site smarter than when you went there. Here is today’s question: What’s better for the environment, electric hand dryers or paper towels?
Visit The Straight Dope

5. Hot or Not
Hotornot
I feel a little dirty posting this – but as much as it is embarrassing to say it – rating people based upon their looks is a great way to pass the time! You can choose from all gender types and ages and rate people’s photos from 1 (not) to 10 (hot). You can even add your own photo to be rated and make dates with some of the people there. I won’t tell you whether my photo is on there or not.

4. Stumbleupon
Stumbleupon
Stumbleupon is a social site with a difference – instead of picking the sites you want to see, you tell stumbleupon what your interests are and click a button which takes you to a random site. This is dangerously addictive. It works best with the Stumbleupon toolbar installed. Unfortunately the toolbar is only available for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Definitely worth a look.
Visit Stumbleupon
3. Waiter Rant – Hilarious experiences of a waiter
Waiterrant
By far one of the best time wasters on the net. The anonymous waiter who writes this blog seems to suffer all of the worst things you could imagine a waiter suffering. He always puts a funny slant on his activities and experiences and you can just read for hours on end. I assure you – once you get a taste for this blog you will always go back for more.
Visit Waiter Rant
2. Snopes – Urban Legends
Snopes-1
There may be some controversy over whether this one deserves the top rank, but I think it does and this is why: whenever I am bored and need something to fill in a bit of time, this site does the trick. I don’t spend hours there, I don’t go there looking for anything in particular, I just read a few of the articles and get back to what I am meant to be doing. The site is all about urban legends and it covers a wide variety of topics such as Celebrities, titanic, food (there is an section on Cokelore), and much more. Not only do they tell you whether the legend is true or false, they do background research and often provide quite detailed information.
Visit Snopes
1. Best of Craigslist – Rants and Often Bizarre Posts
Craigslist
Craigslist is a community site where people buy and sell, post personals, and chat in general. The Best Of section contains the finest moments of Craigslist – and believe me, there are MANY. Some of the posts can be a little on the obscene side. I once spent an entire Saturday doing nothing buy reading BOCL. Here is a sample to whet your appetite:
Hello. Here is my couch. I hate this couch and it needs to get out of my house. It is the worst couch I have ever seen. I sat on it and now I’m in a back brace. I let my dog have the couch, but then he died on it, so I don’t really need it anymore. I miss my dog and I hate this couch. I’m asking $3.75 for the couch because thats how much Buck’s favorite chew toy cost me each month. However, I’ll consider other offers. I would just throw this couch into the river, but I hurt my back sitting on the couch.”
Visit Best of Craigslist
I would also like to give honourable mention to the following sites: Digg, Reddit, Fark, Youtube, Wikipedia, and Slashdot. I certainly hope that you find this a cure for boredom and get many hours of interesting surfing.
Oh – and out of humility I haven’t added the List Universe, which is, of course, the real number 1!

Top 10 Brain Teasers

Brain teasers are a good way to improve your mind and have some fun at the same time. They usually require lateral thinking and patience. This is a list of my favorite 10 brain teasers. Remember, don’t cheat! Take your time and when you think you know the solution, click the “view solution” link. In no particular order:

1. The Firing Squad
Pirate Pete had been captured by a Spanish general and sentenced to death by his 50-man firing squad.
Pete cringed, as he knew their reputation for being the worst firing squad in the Spanish military. They were such bad shots that they would often all miss their targets and simply maim their victims, leaving them to bleed to death, as the general’s tradition was to only allow one shot per man to save on ammunition. The thought of a slow painful death made Pete beg for mercy.
“Very well, I have some compassion. You may choose where the men stand when they shoot you and I will add 50 extra men to the squad to ensure someone will at least hit you. Perhaps if they stand closer they will kill you quicker, if you’re lucky,” snickered the general. “Oh, and just so you don’t get any funny ideas, they can’t stand more than 20 ft away, they must be facing you, and you must remain tied to the post in the middle of the yard. And to show I’m not totally heartless, if you aren’t dead by sundown I’ll release you so you can die peacefully outside the compound. I must go now but will return tomorrow and see to it that you are buried in a nice spot, though with 100 men, I doubt there will be much left of you to bury.”
After giving his instructions the general left. Upon his return the next day, he found that Pete had been set free alive and well. “How could this be?” demanded the general. “It was where Pete had us stand,” explained the captain of the squad.
Where did Pete tell them to stand?

2. The Servant’s Wish
Once upon a time, in the West Lake village, a servant lived with his master. After service of 30 years, his master became ill and was going to die. One day, the master called his servant and offered him for a wish. It could be any wish but just one. The master gave him one day to think about it. The servant became very happy and went to his mother to discuss the wish. His mother was blind and she asked her son to wish for her eye-sight to come back. Next, the servant went to his wife. She became very excited and asked for a son as they were childless for many years. After that, the servant went to his father who wanted to be rich and so he asked his son to wish for a lot of money. The next day he went to his master and made one wish through which all the three (mother, father, wife) got what they wanted. What was his wish?

3. The Wisest Son
One day, a father went to his three sons and told them that he would die soon and he needed to decide which one of them to give his property to. He decided to give them all a test. He said, “Go to the market my sons, and purchase something that is large enough to fill my bedroom, but small enough to fit in your pocket. From this I will decide which of you is the wisest and worthy enough to inherit my land.” So they all went to the market and bought something that they thought would fill the room, yet was still small enough that they could fit into their pockets. Each son came back with a different item. The father told his sons to come into his bedroom one at a time and try to fill up his bedroom with whatever they had purchased. The first son came in and put some pieces of cloth that he had bought and laid them end to end across the room, but it barely covered any of the floor. Then the second son came in and laid some hay, that he had purchased, on the floor but there was only enough to cover half of the floor. The third son came in and showed his father what he had purchased and how it could fill the entire room yet still fit into his pocket. The father replied, “You are truly the wisest of all and you shall receive my property.” What was it that the son had showed to his father?
4. Sherlock holmes and the Broken Window
One snowy night, Sherlock Holmes was in his house sitting by a fire. All of a sudden a snowball came crashing through his window, breaking it. Holmes got up and looked out the window just in time to see three neighborhood kids who were brothers run around a corner. Their names were John Crimson, Mark Crimson and Paul Crimson. The next day Holmes got a note on his door that read “? Crimson. He broke your window.” Which of the three Crimson brothers should Sherlock Holmes question about the incident?

5. What is it?The Pope has it but he does not use it.
Your father has it but your mother uses it.
Nuns do not need it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a big one,
Michael J. Fox’s is quite small.
What is it?

6. Wheelbarrow Battle
Two men working at a construction site were up for a challenge, and they were pretty mad at each other. Finally, at lunch break, they confronted one another. One man, obviously stronger, said “See that wheelbarrow? I’m willin’ to bet $100 (that’s all I have in my wallet here) that anything you can wheel to that cone and back, I can wheel twice as far. Do we have a bet?”
The other man, too dignified to decline, shook his hand, but he had a plan formulating. He looked at the objects lying around: a pile of 400 bricks, a steel beam, the 10 men that had gathered around to watch, and a stack of ten bags of concrete mix; he thought for a while, and then finalized his plan.
“All right,” he said, and revealed his object.
That night, the strong man went home thoroughly teased and $100 poorer. What was the weaker man’s object?
7. The Last Stand
General Custer is surrounded by Indians and he’s the only cowboy left.
He finds an old lamp in front of him and rubs it. Out pops a genie. The genie grants Custer one wish, with a catch. He says, “Whatever you wish for, each Indian will get two of the same thing.”
Custer ponders a while and thinks:”If I get a bow and arrow they get two. If I get a rifle they get two!” He then rubs the bottle again and out pops the genie. “Well,” the genie asks “have you made up your mind?”
What did Custer ask for to help him get away?
Girl Thinking

8. Blind MenThere was a man who went to the mall where he bought 3 pairs of red socks and 3 pairs of white socks. Another man who had already bought 3 pairs of red socks and 3 pairs of white socks came back to return his 6 pairs. They were both blind. As they were walking, they bumped into each other. All the socks scattered around the floor, but each pair remained held together by a rubber band. Nobody helped them pick the socks up, but in 3 minutes they both had 3 pairs of red, and 3 pairs of white. How is that possible if they are blind?
9. A man walks in to a bar…
A man walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a glass of water. The bartender reaches under the bar and brings out a gun and aims it at the man. The man says thank you and leaves. What happened?
10. The Last SunriseA man walks into his back yard in the middle of the night and fires a gun. Due to his strange behaviour he never sees another sunrise. (No, he didn’t kill himself.) Can you explain this odd occurrence?
